Non-Surgical Weight Loss Balloon

It's a New Approach to Non-Surgical Weight Loss

Vista Health is excited to introduce a new non-surgical approach to weight loss that's non-invasive, non-surgical and while temporary, can change a person's life for good!

This approach employs a durable gastric balloon made out of soft silicone that is placed in the patient's stomach. The balloon stays in the patient's stomach temporarily -- about six months. During that time, the shape and volume of the balloon takes up enough space in the stomach to help patients adapt to healthier portion sizes.

While results vary, the technology and design of the balloon helps patients lose up to three times the weight of diet and exercise alone.**

It's Non-surgical

The gastric balloon is inserted orally through your esophagus and placed directly into your stomach during a quick, non-surgical procedure. And since the weight loss balloon is inserted through your throat and into your stomach there is no need for any incisions, stitches or scars.

It's Non-invasive

The 30-minute procedure is completed while you are mildly sedated. Most patients go home to start their weight loss journey on the same day.

It's not Permanent

After the first six months of the weight loss program the stomach balloon is carefully removed and the aftercare program continues.

Weight Loss Balloon Placement

The balloon is placed into the stomach in a simple, non-surgical outpatient procedure. First, a diagnostic endoscopy is done to ensure that there are no contraindications and that it is safe to perform the procedure. Once you are mildly sedated and comfortable, the procedure can begin.

The deflated gastric balloon is inserted through the esophagus and into your stomach. A syringe is then used to fill the balloon with a sterile saline solution. Once the weight loss balloon has been filled with saline it is about the size of a grapefruit. The entire procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. After roughly two hours of recovery, most patients head home to begin the rest of their new life.

The First Six Months

With the stomach balloon and support team, patients usually see the most drastic results in the first six months. It is very important to use this time to develop healthy habits that will continue for not only the 12-month weight loss program, but for the rest of your life. During the first six months you will learn how to use the weight loss balloon as a tool to aid in long-term weight loss. Having open and constant communication with your support team is crucial to maximizing the benefits of the system. Over the next 12-months you will have regular face-to-face sessions with your treatment team, dietician, fitness trainer, psychologist and exercise psychologist
